DIFFERENT STROKES DIFF FOLKS [iii]
i.tanka [Jerusalemites visiting California son are puzzled no restaurants open]
in heart of Israel
itโs a regular Thursday —
just very normal
โweek post Hanukkah โ many
us Jews unaware Xmas
ii.tanka [Orthodox in-laws of course arranged their boyโs boychick bris*]
diaspora kidsโ
unlike Israel where all do
boysโ circumcision*
variations of kosher/
Shabbat โ oy none my sonโs child
iii.tanka [if only]
I grieve as Jew for
humans desecrated by
Hamas; can Israel
take responsibility
for Gaza response mistakes?
